Welcome to May! How exciting! As the weather warms up, so does the setting in which our story takes place.

Nefertiti, written by Michelle Moran, takes place in Ancient Egypt during the reign of Amunhotep, the scandalous pharaoh responsible for overthrowing all the Gods but one. Seduced by the power that comes with being Wife of the Pharaoh, Nefertiti immediately begins to influence the history that Ancient Egyptians tried to erase from their memory

Told from the perspective of the lesser-known sister of Nefertiti, Mutnodjmet, this story has been described as captivating and completely engrossing.

We officially made it to Spring! How exciting! 🤩 This month, I have decided to switch it up and focus on ONE book and the winner is:

We Were the Lucky Ones by Georgia Hunter!

Published in 2017, this book depicts the struggles of the Kurc family before, during, and after WW2. Based on the true events of Georgia’s own family, this historical depiction was made into a TV Drama Series by Hulu back in 2024 with season 1 available now.

Buckle up! This one is going to be an emotional rollercoaster.
